Assignment of rearranged cDNAs and gDNAs to germline genes: Human TRAV

In this table are listed the rearranged complementary DNAs (cDNAs) and genomic DNAs (gDNAs) which are quoted in Arden, B. et al., Immunogenetics, 42, 455-500 (1995), or which represent potential new alleles without known germline sequences.

Rearranged cDNAs (#c) and gDNAs (#g) TRAV sequences have been assigned to IMGT TRAV genes and alleles as described in Germline gene tables, Alignments of alleles and Tables of alleles. Assignments were performed using IMGT/V-QUEST.

References are presented chronologically whenever possible.

IMGT notes:
(1) Leader spliced to a truncated TRAV2 rearranged to TRAJ31*01. Only eight amino acids from the 3' end of the V-REGION are present.
(2) The nucleotide g inserted at position 20 (20^21 >ins^g, according to the IMGT numbering) probably results from a sequencing or typing error.
(3) Two mutations in FR3-IMGT (t239>g, g240>t, L80>C, according to the IMGT numbering) and an INSERTION in CDR3-IMGT are probably typing or sequencing errors.
(4) Mutation of the first nucleotide of this sequence (a209>g, according to the IMGT numbering) is probably a sequencing error.
(5) Mutations in the CDR1-IMGT (c80>g, g81>c, S27>C, according to the IMGT numbering) are probably sequencing or typing errors.
(6) Because of several sequencing or typing errors in FR3-IMGT (DELETION of nucleotide a at position 221, and INSERTION of a nucleotide a between position 253 and 254, according to the IMGT numbering) , the mutation observed in FR1-IMGT (t42>g, F14>C, according to the IMGT numbering) does not allow to define a new allele.
(7) DELETION of nucleotide g in CDR1-IMGT (g86>del#, according to the IMGT numbering) is probably due to a sequencing or typing error.
(8) A mutation in CDR1-IMGT (g86>t, G28>V, according to the IMGT numbering) may represent a polymorphic nucleotide. However, the sequence is partial and cannot define a new allele.
(9) X04947/M13730 presents several sequencing errors in FR2-IMGT, CDR2-IMGT and FR3-IMGT by nucleotide DELETION and INSERTION.
(10) In this sequence, the TRAV19 gene is rearranged to (D)J segment of the TRD locus. However the authors could not test their expression on the cell surface and did not give them a DV nomenclature.[44]
(11) + indicates in-frame JUNCTION, - indicates out-of-frame JUNCTION, a blank indicates not defined JUNCTION.
(12) The JUNCTION is in-frame, with a STOP-CODON.
(13) Several mutations are observed in FR3-IMGT. They are probably typing or sequencing errors.
(14) Three INSERTIONs of nucleotide in FR3-IMGT are probably typing errors .
(15) In this sequence, the TRAV38-2 gene is rearranged to (D)J segment of the TRD locus.
(16) In this sequence, the TRAV30 gene is rearranged to (D)J segment of the TRD locus. However the authors could not test their expression on the cell surface and did not give them a DV nomenclature.[44]
