How many functional TRA genes?
What is the expressed TRA repertoire?

ANSWER to question 3:

The number of functional genes in the human TRA locus is 94-96 per haploid genome. This potentiel germline (= non rearranged) repertoire comprises 43-45 TRAV (including the 5 TRAV/DV), 50 TRAJ and the unique TRAC gene. The expressed T cell receptor alpha chain repertoire comprises 104 V-J-REGIONs associated to the C-REGION.
