- Fct: FUNCTIONALITY
- R: Rearranged
- T: Transcribed
- Pr: Translated into protein
"+" or "-" indicates if the gene sequences have been found (+) or not been found (-)
rearranged (R),
transcribed (T) and/or translated into protein
(Pr). Arbitrarily that information is shown on the first line of each gene
when the data have been confirmed by several studies.
Functionality is shown between parentheses, (F) and (P), when the accession
number refers to rearranged genomic DNA or cDNA and the corresponding germline
gene has not yet been isolated.
Functionality is shown between brackets, [F] and [P], when the accession number
refers to genomic DNA, but not known as being germline or rearranged.

Based on the presence of an arginine (Arg, R) in the V-REGION at position 50 (R50), instead of a leucine (Leu, L) (L50) or proline (Pro, P) (P50) (IMGT unique numbering), the following IGHV genes of Vicugna pacos (alpaca), IGHV3-3 and IGHV3S53 to IGHV3S68, most probably will be found expressed in VH domains of only-heavy-chain antibodies, or VHH.
IMGT notes:

- (5) in frame STOP-CODON in FR2-IMGT, 1st-CYS is repalced by Arg
- (6) in frame STOP-CODON in in FR2-IMGT and in FR3-IMGT
- (7) Frameshift in CDR1-IMGT and in FR2-IMGT, deletion one nucleotide in CDR1-IMGT and one nucleotide in FR2-IMGT
- (8) Frameshift in FR1-IMGT, insertion one nucleotide in FR1-IMGT
- (9) Previously annotated as IGHV2 subgroup
