Correspondence between V numberings

Correspondence between the IMGT unique Lefranc numbering and the different numberings (horizontal display)

This figure (published on line on June 11, 1998) is the first historical correspondence between the IMGT unique Lefranc numbering [1] and the different previous numberings [2-5] for V-REGION of immunoglobulin and T cell receptor (TR) of any locus. It demonstrates the heterogeneity of the previous numberings and the heterogeneity of their CDR delimitations (marked with < and >), which results from their different definitions. Thus, < and > indicate the limits of the CDR-IMGT based on the IMGT unique numbering for V-REGION in [1], the limits of the complementarity determining regions defined on the basis of sequence variability in [2], and the limits of the canonical structure loops in [3].
Only one CDR length is shown (usually, for a given line, the longest one in the quoted publication).
Correspondence for shorter CDRs and correspondence between CDR-IMGT of different lengths and canonical structure loops are described in Correspondence between numberings for the CDR-IMGT of different lengths (horizontal display).
