Definitions

IG chain Definition
IG-Heavy-Nu refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Nu constant gene or chain, previously designated as NAR or IgNAR, and described in the nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum) and the spotted wobbegong shark (Orectolobus maculatus).
IG-Heavy-Rho refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Rho constant gene or chain, previously designated as "Xi", and described in the clearnose skate (Raja eglanteria) and the little skate (Leucoraja erinacea).
IG-Heavy-Upsilon refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Upsilon gene or chain (axolotl, frog, chicken, duck).
IG-Heavy-Omega refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Omega constant gene or chain, in Chondrichthyes [previously designated as NARC, and described in the sandbar shark (Carcharhinus plumbeus) and the nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum)], and in lungfish [previously designated as IgW-Like, and described in the African lungfish (Protopterus aethiopicus)].
IG-Heavy-Omicron refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Omicron constant gene or chain, in Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) [3]
IG-Heavy-Xi refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Xi constant gene or chain (frog).
IG-Heavy-Tau refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Tau constant gene or chain (some teleostei).
IG-Heavy-Zeta refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Zeta constant gene or chain (some teleostei).
IG-Heavy-Phi refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Phi constant gene or chain (anura amphibian). [1]
IG-Heavy-Pi refers to Immunoglobulin Heavy Pi constant gene or chain (caudata or urodela amphibian). [2]
IG-Light-Iota refers to Immunoglobulin Light Iota constant gene or chain (in Chondrichthyes and Actinopterygii -which include the Teleostei-).
IG-Light-Rho refers to Immunoglobulin Light Rho constant gene or chain (frog).
IG-Light-Sigma refers to Immunoglobulin Light Sigma constant gene or chain (in Chondrichthyes and frog).

IMGT Note:
  1. (1) Due to the absence of the CH1 domain, the IG-Heavy-Nu chain cannot associate with a light chain and the IGN receptor only comprises two heavy chains.
