The domestic ferret (Mustela putorius furo) IGH locus spans 1 030 kilobases (kb), from 10 kb upstream of the most 5' gene in the locus, IGHV3-63 (P), to 10 kb downstream of the most 3' gene in the locus, IGHA (P). The Locus representation encompasses 1 020 kb.
The 5' end of the locus could not be mapped with confidence and some genes at 5' end could be missing.
The domestic ferret (Mustela putorius furo) IGH locus consists of 63 IGHV genes belonging to 4 IGHV subgroups and one IGHV clan subgroup, 10 IGHD genes , 8 IGHJ genes, and 6 IGHC genes.
There are additionally 52 provisional IGHV genes, belonging to 2 IGHV subgroups and 2 IGHV clan subgroups.
The IGHV genes span 848 kilobases (kb), the IGHD genes span 36 kilobases (kb), the IGHJ genes span 15 kilobases (kb) and the IGHC genes span 138 kilobases (kb).
