The Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) IGL locus is on chromosome 22. The orientation of the locus is reverse (REV).
The Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) IGL locus spans 863 kilobases (kb), from 10 kilobases (kb) upstream the most 5' gene in the locus, VPREB1 (F), to 10 kilobases (kb) upstream of the most 3' gene in the locus, IGLC7 (F). The Locus representation encompasses 1000 kilobases (kb) including the 5' borne TOP3B and the 3' borne RSPH14.
The Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) IGL locus consists of 119 genes : 105 IGLV genes belonging to 11 subgroups and 6 clans, 7 IGLJ genes belonging to 7 sets and 7 IGLC genes .
The IGLV genes span 815 kilobases (kb), the IGLJ genes and the IGLC gene spans 48 kilobases (kb).

TOP3B (5' borne) has been identified 61 kb upstream of VPREB1, the most 5' gene in the locus.
RSPH14 (3' borne) has been identified 128 kb downstream of IGLC7, the most 3' gene in the locus.
