The dog (Canis lupus familiaris) TRB locus on chromosome 16 comprises 36 TRBV genes belonging to 25 TRBV subgroups:

• 22 FUNCTIONAL
• 1 ORF (Open Reading Frame)
• 13 PSEUDOGENE

The TRBV genes are localized in 2 V-CLUSTER:

• the 5' V-CLUSTER, classically in 5' of the TRBD, TRBJ and TRBC, includes 35 TRBV genes belonging to 24 subgroups (21 genes are functional, 1 gene is ORF and 13 genes are pseudogenes)
• the 3' V-CLUSTER, downstream of the TRBC in inverted orientation, includes 1 TRBV gene (functional)
