OBTENTION

The 'OBTENTION' axiom is one of the seven axioms of the Formal IMGT-ONTOLOGY or IMGT-Kaleidoscope [1-3].

The 'OBTENTION' axiom postulates that molecules, cells, organs, organisms or populations and their processes and relations have been obtained. The origins and conditions in which the have been obtained or in which they occur have to be defined. In molecular immunogenetics, the 'OBTENTION' axiom postulates that the origins and conditions in which sequences and 3D structures have been obtained have to be defined [1].
