Human ( Homo sapiens) IGL locus at 22q11.2
The human IGL locus is located on the long arm of the acrocentric
chromosome 22 at 22q11.2, at 19 Mb from the 22pter telomere, at 6 Mb from the centromere and at 29 Mb from the 22qter telomere. The
human IGL locus is in orientation: being located on the chromosome long arm, the 5' end of the locus is centromeric and the 3' end is telomeric. forward
In IMGT/GeneSearch, IMGT/GeneView and IMGT/LocusView:
The IGL locus localization (start and end: 5954102-6838708 bp) and the gene positions are relative to the centromere.
Clones (in blue) are those used for the complete sequencing of the human IGL locus.
Note that all the functional and ORF human IGL genes were mapped and sequenced prior to the complete locus sequencing.
