The human IGL locus is located on the long arm of the acrocentric chromosome 22 at 22q11.2, at 19 Mb from the 22pter telomere, at 6 Mb from the centromere and at 29 Mb from the 22qter telomere.
The human IGL locus is in forward orientation: being located on the chromosome long arm, the 5' end of the locus is centromeric and the 3' end is telomeric.
In IMGT/GeneSearch, IMGT/GeneView and IMGT/LocusView:
The IGL locus localization (start and end: 5954102-6838708 bp) and the gene positions are relative to the centromere.
Clones (in blue) are those used for the complete sequencing of the human IGL locus.
IMGT/GeneSearch, IMGT/GeneView and IMGT/LocusView first version has been developed on the human IGL locus, by Richard D'Agata, Isabelle Gourdon, Nicolas Moyroud, Christine Tranchant (DESS IAO, Université Montpellier II, Montpellier, France, march 2001).
