Reference sequences
The IMGT reference sequences for IG and TR genes have been defined based on one or, whenever possible, several of the following criteria: germline sequence, first sequence published, longest sequence, mapped sequence.
IMGT reference sequences refer to:
- the IMGT/LIGM-DB reference sequences. Accession numbers of the IMGT/LIGM-DB reference sequences are listed in the Gene tables of the IMGT Repertoire [1-6]. Note that the keyword "IMGT reference sequence" is assigned to an IMGT/LIGM-DB accession number if any part of the sequence has been defined as IMGT reference sequence. The IMGT/LIGM-DB reference sequences can be queried in the IMGT/LIGM-DB Keywords module.
- The IMGT reference directory sequences. The IMGT reference directory sequences correspond to sequence fragments isolated from the IMGT/LIGM-DB reference sequences, in which gaps are inserted according to the IMGT unique numbering. The IMGT reference directory sequences are used in IMGT/V-QUEST and in other IMGT tools . Sequences from the IMGT reference directory sets can be downloaded in FASTA format.
- the IMGT/GENE-DB reference sequences. The IMGT/GENE-DB reference sequences, isolated from the IMGT/LIGM-DB reference sequences, correspond to the gene coding sequences, with, if there are several exons, the exons being artificially joined.
