IMGT Locus in Focus

'IMGT Locus in Focus' has been launched in the April 1998 issue of Experimental and Clinical Immunogenetics (Lefranc, 1998) and published from April 1998 to December 2001 in that journal. Since January 2003, 'IMGT Locus in Focus' is a new section of Developmental and Comparative Immunology, edited by Elsevier Science (Editorial by Warr et al., 2003 [20]).

'IMGT Locus in Focus' comprises 22 princeps publications on IG and TR nomenclature published from 1998 to 2003 with pdf and are the first extensive overview of the IMGT Repertoire and of the status of the different IG and TR genes in IMGT, with standardization of gene nomenclature, functionality, and polymorphism, according to the IMGT rules of the IMGT Scientific chart.

The nomenclature of IG and TR genes and alleles has been approved by the WHO-IUIS Nomenclature Subcommittee/IMGT Nomenclature (IMGT-NC) Subcommittee for immunoglobulins and T cell receptors [22].

The tables below indicate the immunoglobulin (IG) and T cell receptor (TR) groups with, between brackets, the 'IMGT Locus in Focus' report number.
